Yto Barrada, The Dye Garden, 2019 Released on the occasion of her exhibition at the Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY, 2019 More
The book is divided into two sections. First, the catalogue to her show „The Dye Garden“, organized by the Neuberger Museum in collaboration with the American Academy in Rome. An exhibition that features recent photographs, film, video, sculpture, and hand-dyed textiles. In her multidisciplinary work, Barrada explores cultural concerns and historical accounts with a focus on Morocco. This exploration is both personal and political as she “weaves together family history and broader sociopolitical narratives,“ says exhibition co-curator Peter Benson Miller. The book further features a new series „Color Walks“ which was done exclusively for the catalogue.
